I did a few rough sketches of ideas for my final posters

Negative Space

 I love the way that these designers have combined typography and negative space to create 

interesting designs. I would like to create a poster based around this idea.

Typography used to create images

I really love these illustrations created using typography. I would love to create a poster based around this technique. I like the way that the designer has picked out key words in the first design and made them larger than the rest. I like the simple but striking colour combination on the second design and I like the dramatic posture of the girl in the third design and also the type of paper that the third design has been printed on.

Found Typography

I really like these examples of found typography from Pinterest. I like the use of everyday household objects to create words and I also like the use of natural colours to emphasise the fact that typography is everywhere. I would like to create a final poster based on this idea.

David Carson Inspired poster

I created this poster in the style of David Carson not following any particular design rules or grid systems.
I thought the outcome was quite successful and I enjoyed working on this piece.

White space

Use of White Space in Design

We were asked to create a press kit design for the Kingston Paint Company using white space in our design. 

I came up with this new logo and a simple design for the press kit featuring brush stokes which were repeated on the inside.

Single colour design

Single Colour Leaflet Design

We were given the task of creating a leaflet in one colour with the content supplied.

To achieve this, I first converted my images to greyscale in photoshop, then selected duotone and chose my desired pantone colour. Following this, I created my design in Indesign and worked with the same pantone colour in various tints and opacity. Below are two possible outcomes, both in one colour.
