I was asked to design a logo for a company called Tricord Films.
These were the initail ideas I came up with.

Following a discussion with the client, these were the revised logo designs.

This was the final design that was chosen and how the logo would look in different situations.

I created this pattern based on the theme 'Graphic Design'. I used my own hand drawn illustrations and then scanned them into Photoshop to create a balanced pattern repeat and background colour.
I may use it as a background on my personal website.

 

 

 

 



Personal Business Card

This evening I was working on some initial ideas for my business card.
I have chosen the name 'Zion Design' for my business.
I began by creating my own typography in illustrator to form a logo.
I also experimented with some business card designs which I will develop and refine further.

These are some of my developed ideas for my business card.

After getting some feedback on my ideas I decided to work on some alternative designs.
These are my latest business card concepts.

I am getting closer to creating a business card design that I am happy with. I like the bright bold colour schemes of these latest designs, but I feel that they might be a bit too busy.

Easter Leaflet for Church

I put together this quick and simple Easter leaflet using some of the drawing techniques I have learnt on my course. I drew the simple images using the pen tool and added a subtle drop shadow for depth.

1950s Inspired Fashion Illustration

This evening I created an illustration to possibly use in my vintage fashion project (designing with materials module). I began by drawing an outline of the girls face in Illustartor using the pen tool, then filling her in with flat colour and some patterns which I created (spots and checks). I then used a water colour brush to create the finishing touches giving the design a hand painted artistic feel. I enjoyed working on this and am pleased with the outcome.

 I also created this hand drawn image below which I may use in my project on designing with materials.

Easter Leaftet

I was asked to create an image to go on a leaflet for my local church.
They asked for a giant easter egg on the front with the words 'something big is coming'. 

I decided to put the typography inside the shape of an egg. I went for something quite simple and

eyecatching with a slightly retro look.

Logo design for a friend

A friend asked me to help her to design a logo and facebook banner for her new company 'Personal Shop and Ship- UK to Malta'. These were some of my initial design ideas.

I was asked to develop the logo further. These were the stages in the process.

Until finally we came up with a logo that my friend was happy with. (Below)

I was given the following photograph to use for the facebook banner that required some editing.

This is the edited facebook banner with a vintage, art deco feel.



 

Leaflet Design

 

Using the technique we learnt the other day I made this leaflet for a men's event at my church.

I erased some of the text to give the illusion that it was positioned behind the rock.

I also used the eraser tool to removes some parts of the title to make it look like the waves
were splashing on it. I also created a second design with different imagery and fonts.

 

 

 
 
 
 

 



Logo Design

I was asked to design a logo for 'Lightwater Information for the Vulnerable and Elderly'.

These were my initial sketches and logo ideas. I was asked to create something warm and friendly.

The feedback that I got from the client was that they didn't like the use of an elderly person with a stick on their logo because the organisation appeals to both the vulnerable and elderly. I came up with some more concepts based around the idea of signposting of information. These were the ideas I presented to the client.

My favorite design was the orange one on the left, second from the bottom as I felt it was simple and striking, however the client eventually chose this design as their logo.

Pattern Design

At work today I had to create a programme, table name cards and CD cover for a Valentine's dinner event happening at the church this weekend. I created a heart pattern in Illustrator and repeated the pattern across all the various items. 

Personal work

 

At work yesterday I designed this retro-style info graphic advertising a TV broadcast.

I used Adobe Illustrator to create the illustration. The design was needed in portrait and also landscape for the web. I chose bright turquoise and orange to tie in with the retro font and TV set.
